나이팅게일선서

• 이 선서문은 히포크라테스 서약문을 따른 것이며 나이팅게일을 기념하기 위하여 그의 이름으로 바쳐진 것입니다. 1893년 미국 미시간주 디트로이트시 Harper병원 Farrana 간호학교 졸업식에서 처음으로 사용된 것으로 사용되어 왔으나 간호교육기관에서 사용하고 있는 서약문이 통일되지 않아 사용 중인 서약문을 수집 분석하여 서약문을 '선서' 로 하고 대표자회의(1988. 1. 22)에서 통일 번역문안을 마련, 제55회 정기대의원총회 (1988. 2. 12)에서 확정했다.

- 나는 일생을 의롭게 살며 전문간호직에 최선을 다할 것을 하느님과 여러분 앞에 선서합니다.
- 나는 인간의 생명에 해로운 일은 어떤 상황에서나 하지 않겠습니다.
- 나는 간호의 수준을 높이기 위하여 전력을 다하겠으며 간호하면서 알게 된 개인이나 가족의
사정은 비밀로 하겠습니다.
- 나는 성심으로 의료인과 협조하겠으며 나의 간호를 받는 사람들의 안녕을 위하여
헌신하겠습니다.

- I solemnly pledge myself before God and in presence of this assembly to pass my life in
purity and to practice profession faithfully.
- I will abstain from whatever is deleterious and mischievous and will not take or knowingly
administer any harmful drug.
- I will do all in my power to elevate standard of my profession, and will hold in confidence,
all personal matters committed to my keeping, and all family affairs coming to my knowledge
in the practice of my calling.
- With loyalty will I endeavor to aid the physician in his work and devote myself to the welfare
of these committed to my care.
